Travel Support

Support for attendance at the American Conference on Neutron Scattering may be granted for students, postdocs and junior faculty from US educational institutions. Limited funds are available for applicants from Canadian institutions. Support is granted at the discretion of the Neutron Scattering Society of America.

Only actual expenses will be reimbursed and no reimbursement will be made for increased costs due to late registration, etc. Lodging reimbursement will be for the conference rate at the conference hotel only unless a shortage of rooms requires use of another facility. Actual awards will be no more than the actual expenditures or the maximum award amount, whichever is smaller.

Applications can be made as part of the abstract submission. For full consideration, requests should be submitted prior to the abstract deadline, but late requests may be considered.

Allowable expenses may include travel for you or your spouse/partner/caregiver, baby sitters, or day care. Pertinent receipts must be provided for all claimed expenses.
