There are a number of possible hazards associated with work in the Primary Beam Areas, these include:
- difficult workspace access
- ionizing radiation and/or radioactive contamination
- high voltage and high current sources
- magnet hazards
- non-ionizing radiation hazards
- ventilation
- temperature extremes
- pinching or striking hazards, and
- stored energy sources
