Before you arrive

  • If your proposal is approved, you will receive an email from the LANSCE User Office asking you to register. Only users listed on the proposal will be able to register. If additional visitors are expected, the PI needs to add them to the proposal so they too can register.

  • Familiarize yourself with visiting LANSCE.
  • Minor non-LANL users are prohibited to come onsite for an experiment.
  • Coordinate the remote LANL badging process with the LANSCE User Office.

Coordinate your experiment with the User Office

  • You will be notified of your experiment schedule at least 3-6 weeks prior to your start date.
  • It is important that you contact your instrument scientist as soon as you receive your experiment start date.
  • Discuss any shipment of equipment and samples with the instrument scientist and User Office prior to shipment and notify both once you receive delivery notice.
  • If you need a special sample holder or ancillary equipment, please make arrangements with your instrument scientist before your experiment start date.
  • Complete your online training as directed by the User Office.
  • The User Office will arrange your LANL Badge Office appointment to receive a badge for site access.
